Traditional oil analysis processes involve drawing samples from the equipment and sending the samples to an outside lab for analysis. These labs will generate a report and send it back, a procedure that can take weeks. When the reports arrive, it’s time to assess the results and determine the next steps.
The traditional approach may leave you vulnerable to failures that occur while the analysis is being conducted or by the fact that labs test to approved standards, which may not be as stringent as those required by equipment manufacturers.
Bringing Real-Time Testing to Your Facility
Reliability 360 can bring real-time testing to your facility. Using advanced, high imaging technology, our lubrication experts can draw and analyze samples immediately. The analysis equipment we use employs advanced laser scanning and a database containing hundreds of lubricant profiles.
As the sample passes through the sensors, it is analyzed immediately and compared to selected oil profiles. It then generates a comprehensive report that can be displayed onscreen or downloaded for use on your PC.
With this equipment, Reliability 360 can:
- Analyze oil of any type and viscosity
- Eliminate air bubbles and water from ISO counts
- Use particulate shapes for root cause analysis
- Measure the number of particulates in these sizes: 4, 6, 14, 21, 38, 70, and >100 um
- Measure the amount of moisture present
- Measure the remaining oil life
